A Second Chance

Instead of giving up and deleting it, I believe this old blog deserves a second chance. It is my intention to write what I feel drawn to write, not what others have instructed me to write. For many years, I tried to do what was expected of me and I have discovered that when we have expectations we are sure to be disappointed. I cannot be what others expect or desire. From now on, this blog will be what my intuition guides me to share. I will not delete old posts but will be putting them into the archive. Feel free to read and comment. The past is all a part of the learning growing process. It helps us get to where we are and hopefully make better decisions for our future. Shadow People: Are They Dangerous?

As a person, that works in the spiritual, metaphysical, and paranormal fields, I have had many encounters with these mysterious beings known as “Shadow People.” Recently, several people wanting to know the answer to the question, “Are Shadow People dangerous”, have approached me.

I cannot begin to say that I am in any way an expert on the topic of the paranormal. In fact, no one can claim to be an expert on anything that still has so many questions surrounding it. The world of the paranormal remains a mystery to even some of the most experienced paranormal investigators and psychics out there.

The reason this world is so unknown is the lack of credible evidence in this area. However, currently, more teams and individuals are bringing forth hardcore evidence of the existence of paranormal activity and spiritual beings.

A few “gloom and doom” psychics and paranormal investigators out there will argue that “Shadow People” are demons preying on those and the families of those that see them. They may even suggest that the individual that has seen them are in need of a cleansing or exorcism.

At the same time, there are skeptics that will argue that there is a logical explanation for seeing things of this nature. They may even rationalize that numerous objects in a room can cause shadow play within a room causing one to “think” they see a shadow walking in a room.

Suppose for a moment that you are a paranormal investigator and you go into a home where sightings of “Shadow People” have been reported. You go into the home with an open mind but searching for some logical explanation of the activity and you yourself encounter a “Shadow Being,” and are able to catch this shadowy figure moving from one area of a room to another on video. At this point, you could say that the existence of such beings is credible and the evidence is real but are these beings truly demonic in nature.

As a paranormal investigator, one must go into a place believing that there is a reasonable explanation for everything, including the suspicion of “shadow people” in a room. It is not logical to assume that every shadow caught out of the corner of ones eye is paranormal in nature. A good investigator will in fact try to debunk every story, sighting, and experience before deeming a place haunted.

Most people that have actually encountered “Shadow People” have reported that they have seen them out of the corner of their eye or they watched them pass by in front of them at a distance. It is rare that one will find someone that has had a negative encounter with a “Shadow Being.”

At first these entities can be very frightening because they are unfamiliar, unexpected, and of the unknown, but when it comes down to it a lot of times it is merely an apparition that hasn’t manifested fully because they cannot gather enough energy to do so.

Sometimes these beings are merely the result of a residual haunting, meaning they are energy imprints of someone that spent hours doing the same things over and over, or had a traumatic event happen to them and there imprint was left behind. In this case, the entity is not considered an intelligent haunting because it does not communicate and its path or pattern cannot be changed. It is more like a recording set on repeat playing over and over again.

There are some exceptions with “Shadow People” just as there are with any other spirit or human being. Some can be negative but I do not believe that they are all demonic just simply because they look dark. This, in my opinion, is like judging a book by its cover.

I believe that the nature of a spirit is dependent upon the situation surrounding their death and the life they had prior to their death. For instance, if they were a highly negative person in life, they are likely to be highly negative in spirit. This however, leaves me only to believe that if they were a positive person in life or their death was not traumatic or violent in nature, then they are likely to be a positive being that is simply having difficulty manifesting completely.

I do not feel that seeing a “Shadow Being” is a sign that you are under some sort of attack by a demonic or negative force. The best thing one can do if they encounter what they know to be a “Shadow Being” is to remain calm and get in touch with a professional team of investigators or a spiritual advisor to have them investigate it further.

If in fact the entity is a negative spirit, or demonic in nature, the worst thing one can do is panic. They feed on the energy of your fear and use it to gain strength. If they are in fact here to harm you the last thing you want to do is allow it.

It is a very rare occasion that one will encounter a truly negative spirit, and even more rare to run into a demonic force.

My best advice is that you avoid any activity that may open doors to the other side, or draw in spirits, unless you are highly trained and well protected. Séances, Ouija Boards, Spirit Boards, paranormal investigating, and various forms of divination, are not games or toys and should be seen as serious spiritual tools that require a lot of knowledge and skill before being used. If these things interest you, please educate and protect yourself before attempting to dabble. You could not only harm yourself but others.

Therefore, all that being said, my answer to the question of whether “Shadow People” are dangerous is, “It depends on the nature of the spirit, but over all I do not feel that they can all be labeled as dangerous. I do believe that any unknown spirit could possibly be negative or dangerous so the best way to protect yourself is to ask for help from those that work in the fields of the spiritual, metaphysical, and paranormal if you encounter any type of activity.”
